The Wonderwall widget shows the latest entries from your intranet’s recognition wall as cards, wherever you place it, most often on the homepage. A Visit the {wall name} link at the bottom takes staff to the wall page. The widget needs the Wonderwall module to be on: see Wonderwall template. Its name on the Widgets screen changes to match whatever you have called your wall, for example “(Govintra) Praise Wall” — this article calls it the Wonderwall widget throughout.
Add the Wonderwall widget
- Go to Appearance, then Widgets.
- Find the widget named after your wall (by default (Govintra) Wonderwall) and add it to a widget area, such as Homepage second column. See Setup widgets on the homepage.
- Change the settings and select Save.
In the Homepage full-width area the widget always shows a three-across grid of the full card layout, whatever you choose under Columns.
Widget settings
Title
The heading above the list. The default is your wall’s name.
Number of entries
How many entries to show. The default is 3, and you can enter between 1 and 20. In two-column mode this is the number shown per column, so the widget fetches twice as many entries behind the scenes.
Columns
- 1 column: the default. Entries are stacked one above the other.
- 2 columns: entries are shown two across in a narrow widget area, and the widget fetches double the number you set under Number of entries to fill both columns.
Show message snippet
Unticked by default. Tick it to show a short excerpt of the thank-you message on each card.
Expand multiple mentions
Unticked by default. When an entry thanks several people, the card normally names the first person and then shows “+N others”. Tick this to list every person named instead.
For the other widgets, see Available widgets.
