Installation and updates
The Govintra theme is ready for translation and we provide translated language files for German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Swedish.
Theme updates will update language files automatically.
Change wording in templates and widgets
To change wording in the theme and plugins, you can translate words and phrases to alternatives.
You can use a translation editor such as Poedit to change text, words and phrases within the Govintra theme templates, widgets and administration screens.
For example, you can change ‘task’ to ‘guide’, ‘team’ to ‘department’ and ‘grade’ to ‘pay band’.
Govintra comes with a govintra.pot file in the /govintra/languages/ folder, which contains all the words and phrases used in the theme and plugins. Use this to create new language files for your installation.
Generate new .po and .mo files for your language, for example govintra-en_GB.po and govintra-en_GB.mo. Copy your customised language files to the /wp-content/languages/themes/ folder.
