- Blog posts: an auto-expiry date now has to be in the future, as it already does for news, news updates and team news. Blog posts brought over from the old theme with a “Move to trash” expiry action are now moved to the bin when they expire, instead of going back to draft.
- Jargon buster entries are now internal content: they appear only on the Jargon buster page, with no pages, web addresses, search results, archives or menu items of their own. Any old link to a single entry now shows the “page not found” page. You still edit entries under Jargon busters in the dashboard.
- Vacancies: the Vacancies widget now includes a vacancy closing on the last day of its look-ahead period, and a vacancy closing today with no closing time stays listed until the end of the day. The vacancies listing page treats a vacancy with no closing date as still open.
- Most recent widget: “News updates” is offered whenever the News updates module is switched on, rather than depending on the News module.
- Comms hub: the “More updates” link only appears when a News updates page has been chosen, so it no longer points at a page that does not exist.
- About this page widget: the “Notify author” email always uses the subject and text set in the widget.
- Intraverts set to “Contributors only” and ultraverts set to “Publishers only” now recognise anyone who can write content, including people with roles created on your site, not just the four built-in roles.
- Long page template: a task’s manual chapters are shown only when “Treat as a manual” is on, matching the normal task page, and links to a chapter now open it.
- Wonderwall: people who liked an honour in the old theme keep their like on the new wall entry after migration, and a team’s wall entries are now always found, however the team was chosen on the entry.
- People shortcode: someone hidden from the staff directory is no longer shown when picked by ID or email address.
- Shortcode inserter: “Staff by tag” follows the name order set in the Directory settings unless you choose one, the People box explains that a team can be given by ID, slug or path, and double quotes in a value no longer break the shortcode.
- The listposts shortcode uses your site’s timezone when deciding which events are still to come.
- The “Browse by tag” cloud on the How do I page and the Tags list on the Training page now update as soon as a task or course is published, unpublished or retagged, or a tag is renamed or deleted. Before, they could show old tags for up to 15 minutes.
- Hashtags page: the “Spots” picker only appears, and saved spots only show, while the old Spots plugin is active. Sites that have moved to the standard Text and HTML widgets no longer see an empty picker.
- The Auto / Light / Dark colour switch in the footer is now always shown. It is each reader’s own choice in their browser, not a site setting.
- Events listing: each Events page now uses its own “Show past events” setting. Before, every Events page took the setting from the first published Events page.
- Team news now follows the Teams module: switching Teams off also switches off team news, its news groups, expiry and its shortcode, even if the “Team news pages” setting is still ticked.
- Page templates for a module that is switched off no longer appear in the Template dropdown when editing a page (for example News, Blog, Events, How do I, Projects, Vacancies, Training, Jargon buster, Teams, Staff directory and Wonderwall). A page already using one of them keeps its template.
- Aggregator pages with no content of their own now have a main heading for screen reader users, as the Hashtags page already does.
- The old HT Locations plugin is now switched off automatically, as locations are built into the theme.
